I am a Consultant in Paediatrics and Paediatric Allergy based at Leeds Children's Hospital.
My qualifications are BSc (Hons) Anatomy (scientific degree), MBChB (general medical qualification), MRCP (specialist qualification in medicine), MRCPCH (specialist qualification in paediatrics), PhD (Doctor of Philosophy - specialist research degree). I am on the specialist register for Paediatric Medicine and Paediatric Accident & Emergency Medicine.
I graduated in Medicine from Leeds University in 1993 (MBChB). I also gained an additional honours degree in Anatomy (BSc). I passed my MRCP (member of the Royal College of Physicians: London) and MRCPCH (member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health: London) in 1996. I am a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
I gained extensive experience in General Paediatrics / Neonatal medicine / Paediatric Accident & Emergency at St James’s University Hospital and Leeds Children’s Hospital.
My BSc Thesis in Anatomy explored the regeneration of nerves after injury. I spent a further 3 years in research as part of my PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) degree. During these 3 years I explored how the body regulates the production of proteins during infections such as meningitis.
I am a member of the British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
